By preparing students to work as direct-entry midwives and offer culturally attuned care in their own communities, NCM strives to bridge health disparities and reduce maternal and infant risk.
Online Learning Coordinators

NCM is not currently hiring Online Learning Coordinators but always accepts resumes and cover letters and interviews as positions become available.
NCM will provide the online learning platform and the online courses, including outcomes, associated essential competencies, and grading rubrics. As always, the NCM academic program will continue to be largely driven by independent student learning. The Online Learning Coordinator will be contracted by NCM to exercise lead responsibility for updating and maintaining the course and delivering instructional guidance to students. They will provide resources including recorded lectures and enrichment activities, make course announcements, answer questions, guide and facilitate online discussions within the course, offer individualized feedback on assignments, and complete final grading. Students will have the opportunity within the Canvas platform to create online study groups to support each other in the completion of the course while offering diverse perspectives on the course material.
Courses will be asynchronous so that students can work independently at their own pace and are not compelled to complete a course in a given trimester. This will allow for flexibility in the Online Learning Coordinator's hours to accommodate diverse life circumstances, including those of midwives and other healthcare providers who maintain busy on-call schedules.
Online Learning Coordinators will work closely with Cassaundra Jah (NCM’s Provost). They also will have opportunities to create peer support groups amongst the online faculty.
